If I’m flying, what airport do I fly into?
You would fly into McCarran international Airport (LAS).
How do I get from the airport to the hotel?
How will I know where to go once I land at the airport?
At specific times of the day, Sigma Sisters will be in the baggage claim area to greet you. If you do not arrive at a peak time and no greeters are there, make your way to the Hotel using the methods mentioned above.
What do I do when I first arrive at the hotel?
Check into the Hotel and get settled in your room. Then head down to Grand Ballroom Foyer and check in for “The Power of Our Stories” Convention.
How and when do I register for Convention?
Registration will open February 2019. The early bird registration fee is $725 if paid by March 15. The registration fee is $800 if after paid after March 15 up to May 1. No registrations will be accepted after May 1st.
Do I call the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa directly to arrange for a hotel room?
Yes, you can make all of your arrangements by calling the hotel at (877) 622-3140 or using this link to reserve a room. The pre-arranged rate is good for 3 days prior to and 3 days post-Convention. Be sure to tell them you are reserving a room under the “Sigma Sigma Sigma 45th National Convention” room block.
Will I receive confirmation of my registration?
Yes, you will receive a confirming email with your selections.
How do I pay for the registration fee?
Only credit card payments will be accepted. Pay through the Sigma registration form.
Can I room with my Sigma Sisters?
Yes, since you are making your own hotel reservations, you can room with whomever you wish.
Can I still participate if I can only attend for one or two days?
Yes, there are daily registration options available on the Sigma registration form.
Are there tours planned prior to or after Convention?
No, however your registration fee includes a round trip shuttle ticket to/from the Las Vegas strip on Sunday, June 30th which is when Fun Day is planned.
What clothes should I pack?
During Convention, all business sessions and educational sessions are badge attire. You’ll want to pack your white dress and shoes for Triangle Degree and the Memorial Service. Bring a cocktail or semi-formal dress for the Laurels Banquet and a semi or formal dress for the popular Festival of Lights Banquet. For all other events, bring casual clothes, swim suit, etc. And don’t forget that Monday, July 1stis Wear Your Favorite Shade of Purple day.
Is there a group event with all Convention attendees?
Your registration fee includes a round trip shuttle ticket to/from the hotel and the Las Vegas strip for Fun Day on June 30. There you can walk the city, enjoy some great food, attend some great musicals and special events.
Is food included in the registration fee?
Yes, your registration fee includes: Luck Be A Sigma Tonight Welcome Party, Panhellenic Luncheon, Laurels Banquet, Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, Festival of Lights Banquet, Farewell Reception, Access to Opening Ceremonies, Convention Business Sessions, All Days of Educational and Professional Development Programming, Transport to/from Las Vegas on Fun Day, and Convention Shopping Areas. There are restaurants in the hotel and in the immediate area for all other meals. Purchase additional banquet tickets for your non-Sigma guests through the Sigma registration form; these tickets will not be available for purchase onsite as seating is limited.
My friend lives in Las Vegas; do I have to stay at the Convention hotel?
If your permanent address is not Las Vegas and you choose not to stay at the Convention hotel, you will be charged $50. This is to ensure that Tri Sigma can meet its room block commitment and take advantage of the fantastic room rate and amenities.
Voting delegates are required to stay at JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa.
What is the cost to attend?
Check out the pricing page for all pricing options. Alumnae and Collegiate Chapter Voting Delegates and National Officers receive subsidies from the national treasury.
If I’m driving to Convention, where do I park?
There is no charge for self-parking at the Convention hotel.
Who is able to attend Convention?
We encourage all Sigmas to attend Convention. Bring a carload of Sigmas. Each Collegiate Chapter is required to send a voting delegate – this should be the President. Each Alumnae Chapter is encouraged to send a voting delegate. All current National Officers, who are the Voting Delegates are asked to attend as well.
When should I arrive?
Convention officially starts at 1:30 p.m. on June 28 and ends with the Festival of Lights Banquet on July 1, 2019. Checkout is suggested on or after Tuesday, July 2, 2019.
Will there be Sigma merchandise available for purchase?
Yes, The Mall and Sigma Shop will once again be open and offer all types of merchandise and apparel for purchase.
Will the Foundation host any events?
Yes, the Foundation will host some exciting events. Check them out on this website.
What happens if I register and something occurs where I cannot attend?
You can cancel your registration, subject to the cancellation penalties outlined on the registration form. If you are a voting delegate and are changing representatives, there will be a small change fee.
